It's near Lake Camanche... I think there is a steelhead hatchery there.

River is fishing real good right now with caddis dries, emergers and nymphs. If you get there early enough, you can use spent caddis patterns, or drowned caddis and do really well. I would just head up to the dam and fish in that area downstream.

FYI The area of detail is the section flowing out of Commanche reservoir, near Clements.

Good luck!

I said "As Good" Brian. Nothing can beat Putah in my books.....

*Putah is the only creek I've fished, except for feather river salmon and a couple of half pounders.

Your crazy if you think putah is the best fishin around. I'll take a day fishin in the mountains anytime over putah. Don't get me wrong putah is a great fishery especially considering the pressure it gets.

Lol, that's why I put an asterisk below my comment. I've never fished any other streams/rivers except for Putah and feather river...and that was for salmon at the outlet. I need to try some other places...Any recommendations?

that we will but we need to head up to either the yuba or the feather for some fall time steelies and big trout, as i just told you on the phone, its hot in those spots right now, so i am thinkin in about 2-3 weeks we are gonna hit up those spots, bring your 6 wt rods you gonna need um, the yuba and feather trout are stonger more aggresive and just plan more friskey that the putah trout.

All I got is a 5 wt., but I'll have to make it work. I can't afford a new rod just yet, maybe in a coupe of weeks.
