I'm thinking about heading up above chico or thereabouts (pretty flexible) for some fishing. I'll be heading up with my wife and am looking for a fun place to wade with some beautiful scenery and hopefully a few trout. Any suggestions?
Deer Creek along Highway 32 is a nice place to fish. It is very pretty and the highway follows the creek for about 10 miles so there is plenty of access. I have only fished it in the spring and dries worked very well. I would guess this time of year would be excellent as well.
fished Deer Creek last Saturday, and we had a beautiful day! Lots of fish, especially in the evening, though none over about 8 to 9" and even managed to catch one that fit on the palm of my hand on a dry.
Beautiful place, great access and hardly anyone was around. Thanks for the suggestion.
elk Hair Caddis, PMD, and most other small dries light in color. During the day i caught some on Midge pupa and copper beadhead nymphs below an indicator.
