Went out early in the morning to fish the creek. My plan was to fish pocket water for the day but it wasn't producing (one 10" wild bow on a #20 pt) so I decided to nymph the flatter runs above deep pools instead. Didn't have much luck until after noon when I started getting into some planters on a #22 black/olive midge pupae. Then Matt rolled up and immediately stuck a pig right upstream from me that shook the hook. After that I watched him for a minute graphing the river bottom with long roll casts and I was able to pick up a nice 15" wild bow doing the same. Caught a couple more planters after that and missed a couple nicer fish but decided to call it a day and leave the hogs for Matt. It was nice to finally run into someone who knows what is going on out there. Just bs'in with him for a while helped clear up some stuff I was really confused about regarding the creek. Yo Matt it was cool meeting you, you definitely hooked me up with a better understanding of how to fish putah! Oh yeah let me know if you want to do some steelhead fishin later in the year. If you are willing to put up with my novice styles I would be totally down to catch some fat silver bullets. later Charlie

Charlie nice meeting you for sure, that was fun. We'll have to do it again especially now after the labor day crowds have thinned out. Things got going in the evening ended up hooking some nice fish but couldnt land any of the big ones that day. And steelheading i want to do some all the time but for sure later in the year when things get going.
Hey, I would love to tag along on some steelhead fishing if you guys don't mind having a woman along for the ride. I make kick-ass chocolate chip, macademia nut cookies.
Hmmm... steelies, women, AND cookies? Sounds like a great time to me!!! I'd love to have you along flygirl just don't forget the milk! ha ha just kidding, cookies aside I love fishing with everyone. It is always nice to have someone along to keep me from going bonkers when I don't catch any fish. And I can't wait to get into some drag rippin' steelhead action! charlie
