I'm visiting some family up at clear lake this weekend, planning on doing some float tubing for bass and night fishin for some catfish. I was curiuos if cache creek would be worth a few hours, I know it has decent smallmouth, hows the trout fishing there ? I'm not real familar with the area so if anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. I'll be going over mount st. helena I think its called, theres also a creek on the far side of that mt. I remember seeing, Anyone no what this creek is called, Or is that still cache ?
From what I have heard Cache creek on the north end of Indian V. Res is private land. I nead to check somewhere to be sure but anyways....Bill Sunderland has a nice book about California stillwaters of which he includes Ind. V. Res in the book. Helluva lot of lakes that are great fisheries so the fact it made it into the book got me thiinking.
To my knowledge there are no trout in upper Putah creek, although maybe during the higher water months and spawning season(late winter early spring)trout from Lk Berryessa may head upstream and stay untill the water gets too warm or too low like in Pope creek.
