Well it's not getting any easier with these flows... Who's gonna be the one to go out and try to catch some fish in the next couple of days? I bet JT is studying too hard to fish....
No doubt the higher levels affects the experience. During the last weekend(Sunday) I bit the bullet and fought the strong current. Was tough to keep the balance and I struggled a bit to wading farther into deeper water. Still, was great to be out there :)
I saw that the flows jumped above 700 cfs. That's pretty high. I would be out there right now if I didn't have to tie flies. I took my last final yesterday afternoon. I've been tying all morning, trying to get my boxes stocked back up to normal. I'm definitely going Saturday but may have to make a quick trip before then. If so, I'll let everyone know how the flows are affecting the fishing.

I have been float tubing the last couple of days and the fishing has been fairly good landed four yesterday to 22" and three today the biggest was about 20" and super fat. Today I fished below the dam. There were some college teachers from sac state collecting bats above the bridge. I talked to two women fly fisherwomen that have been catching fish in the area around the bridge before I hiked up to the dam. When I got back to my car the bat people said the fly fisherwomen were hooking up with some nice fish.
That's pretty damn tough at 7 hun. I also met those two gals fishing last Tuesday right above the bridge. They had better equipment than I did, jeeze! It was a reminder that my wife needs new waders and she'll be out there showing em up. Hahaha. She recently started fly fishing again after four years off. We got back from Burney last month where we were chucking stoneflies and she did pretty good. On the way home she told me I was GOING to take her to putah cuz she wanted to hook into a big one after hearing all my stories. I've created a beautiful monster. MattR knows what's up, doesn't your wife fish? When we going to share another beer in the parking lot, I haven't seen you since last summer?!
I also wanted to let you know that I have compiled a decent little series of fishing shows from TV and can burn some CD's for anyone interested. Hopefully I won't get in trouble for telling you this, but anyways. Mostly flyfishing America and flyfishing the world which are programs on OLN(vs). Some things haven't been playing on certain dvd players but both my playstation 2 and dvd player seem to play them so let me know. I won't send out a hundred of these things but for those of you who I have posted with lately I wouldnt mind busting out a copy and sending it to you in the mail.
Hey Cole, Yeah when are we gonna have another beer? I just got off the creek an hour ago, had 3 on but couldnt get any in. fished for 2 hours. Yeah the wife can do some fishing. Heck I've seen her do battle with steelhead and she's won a few of those battles, lost quite a few as well . she's deadly with a dry fly and some willing trout. we're headed off to fish the truckee's tomorrow. Let me know when your coming down we'll whack some fish.
