Truckee River and Milton Lake

Did some quick fishing while working around Reno and Tahoe this weekend.  Stopped off at the Floristan exit on my way to Reno to see if I could catch a fish or two.  Landed two small fish on caddis dries.  I had rises from big fish on various other flies but couldn't seem to hook them.  Went to Milton Lake on the way back.  Got there late saturday evening hoping the fishing would be good.  Hooked up with a couple of fish on an adams and a wooly bugger, but lost them both.  Sunday the fishing was good in the morning landed a nice brown trout on a hares ear.  Was using an size 14 adams with a hares ear dropper.  Milton is a great lake for float tubing for large browns.  The middle fork of the Yuba is also good for large rainbows.  The middle fork flows through milton so there is always some flow through the lake.

Nice report, Otter.  I take my last final today, and I can't wait to fish something other than Putah Creek.
