Silver Fork of the American river outside of Kyburz off of highway 50.  It's only a few miles off of the highway, with campgrounds and close enough to south Tahoe if you have any problems.  Plus the water should be low enough now to where she can be somewhat safe with a watchful eye. 

The middle fork stanislaus river around Dardenelle has alot of campgrounds and really easy access to the river, Alot of planted rainbows in this area, Also have good easy access to the clark fork river in the same area. It's up near sonora pass if your not familar with the area. The scenery is outstanding in that area. I'm actually heading up to the silver fork for a few days this weekend, This will be my first time there but I have heard its a pretty good spot.

There's some trails that go into desolation widerness in Tahoe that arent too difficult. Good lake fly fishing and some small creeks that run in between the lakes. Meeks Creek trailhead on Tahoe's west shore is an easier one. The hike is about 3 miles to the first lake with an elevation gain of about 1000'. 1/2 mile to the second lake with better fishing which is called Craig Lake. Beautiful country.

fishrm, yeah  you'll love it back there.  For fishing probably craig and stonyridge lakes would be the best bet.  I would throw some small woolybuggers and strip them in. At dusk the fish go crazy surfacing on those lakes which is a really good time to probably throw some emergers of such. Maybe a mosquito pattern cus you know there will be alot of them. As for the creek I've done really well between the lakes pretty much anywhere with some good pocket water will have trout in it.  Those fish will hit pretty much any standard dry fly pattern. Dry flyn is the only way I fish those small sierra creeks. I remember doing really well just below Stonyridge lake in Meeks Creek. Its been a few years but there used to be good holding water just below the spillway.  One more thing is the creeks feeding Lake Tahoe are closed till July 1.  But above Lake Genevieve it is open.  Just fish in between the small lakes of deolation and you'll be fine.   Have fun take pics and catch alot of fish.
