I made it out 2 days in a row with no fish to hand.  There were not very many bugs on the water besides midges.  Both of the fish that I hooked (1 each day) were on a #20 midge.  I threw all that I had at them, changing the depth, amount of weight, tippet size, and flies.  The fish wanted no part of it.  The flows have been fairly steady at around 300 cfs for a couple of weeks now, so I thought the fishing would be great especially on Saturday with the nice weather.  There was wind forecasted, but there wasn't much wind up in the canyon.  It was just one of those humbling days on the creek.

I ran into MattR up there--cool guy.  It was nice meeting you, bro.

JT, have you tried swinging. I had a blast 2 weeks ago swinging small white wooly buggers and fry imitations. There are also a lot of scuds in the water.

When the fishing is slow I throw buggers and leeches, but haven't had much luck with them.  I've caught fish but nothing of good size.

Cinco de Mayo was pretty good for me.  There wasn't anyone on the water and there was no wind.  I floated the area above #1 and landed three fish.  Lots of hits and misses.  Here are a couple of the fish.  The biggest fish was landed right at the gauging station on a size 20 Micro Mayfly.  If you look close enough you can see the fly at the top of the lip.

Nice fish.  It looks like the Otter was out slaying fish as usual.

I'm going to try fishing this week as well.  I might be able to get out on Thursday.  I'm planning on fishing Friday afternoon as well.
