Fished sunday...through the crowds and drunkards.  It was fun till about 11 or so.  Landed about 20 i think, spotted and smallies.  Biggest spotted was about 1.5lb and biggest smallie landed was 3lb.  Lost one that looked about 2X that, it was a monster.  Hot flies: silver popper, till about 1030; olive bass bugger in and 8 and a rust colored bugger with blue hackle, in a 6.  Good day.  Was in my float tube, so range was limited.  I need a boat to fish that place mo better

Nice report, Nick.  Berryessa can be tons of fun from a float tube.  It can be pretty scary, too, with all the boat traffic.

I use a 9ft, 6 wt for smallies, with 8 lb maxima. When through poppers I over lined with an 8wt floater and used an aqualux intermediate for the subsurface action. Seemed to work ok out there. Need a faster sinking line to fish the steep banks though.
