Is anyone going to make it out this weekend? I need to fill my fly boxes, so I'll be tying most of the day. I probably won't be able to get out there until next weekend. But, at least I'll have flies to use then.

JT, Weather does not look conducive for fishing this weekend. I will also be stocking up the fly boxes. Hopefully willl get out next weekend. BTW, I think I read somewhere about an olive midge pattern that you tie that slays the fish on Putah. Can you let me know the recipe?
I think originally "this weekend" meant 4/14 - 4/15. However, the weather for the weekend of 4/21 - 4/22 seems to be better. The forecast is mostly cloudy and around 67. Does anyone know if those conditions would be considered good for Putah? I may be off Saturday and was thinking of dipping my line for an hour or two...or five.
JT - Is my understanding from reading over previous posts that Putah is usually higher in the summer months than in the fall/winter? Or, did I get that backwards? Also, this year the rainfall is really low, so many resevoirs won't be releasing as much water. Has this been your experience on Putah?
When i was living in washington state, we had a saying, It went like this, " If your waiting for good weather for fishing, You ain't goin fishin". Weather looks decent for the weekend, probably will be windy, usually is this time of year.
In the early spring, the flows increase drastically. They stay up (usually between 500 and 650 cfs). Sometimes they're higher. Sometimes they're lower. The flows depend on irrigation needs. We just just had some rain last week, so the flows dropped a little bit. They will stay high until about September. Then they will slowly drop. The normal winter flows are between 50 and 100 cfs as long as the glory hole isn't spilling over. Then the creek can be ridiculously high.
