I camped at the resort and observed and fished each day.  The fish seemed to be located in the beginings of deep slow water at the end of faster runs.  I watch numerous fisherman fish the same water.  Many people fished the same water but only a few caught the fish.  I had sucess but only after I let the water rest for 45 min. to an hour.  The usual Putah flys worked.  I can't always get the optimum spots with all the pressure but patients and letting the fish rest and get back into the feeding pattern seemed to work.   Dennis

Dennis, my bro-in-law and I were probably some of the people you saw  Monday as we canvased the creek from the bridge down to access 1,2,3, and 5 over an 8 hr period (red Outback, silver Tundra). We went from one end to the other of each access point. Neither of us saw a single fish, and we fished the areas you describe. ??? I must need better glasses. Encouraging to hear that they are still actually there as I was about to pack it in for the season. I'm a newbie, so still learning the ropes on Putah. Oddly, I caught a 24 incher the first hour of my first day on the creek in late Jan at the bridge. It's been down hill since.

BTW, does anyone know the deal with the NO FISHING sign at access #3, west end near the NO HUNTING sign?  Sign says "area closed". Perhaps it's obsolete along with the "Pay $4 signs"?

Eric

Are those the same signs that they posted a couple of years ago when the creek was closed due to the mud snails?
