I have decided to re-schedule our meeting due to the fact that a lot of people who would have a lot of input on these issues or need to hear our issues and concerns cannot be there.
I will try to co-ordinate the next date when some of these other people can make it. I hope this didnt inconvenience anybody, I will let you all know when I come up with a new date.
I had a really nice talk yesterday with Roger Bloom from the DFG and came away from this discussion with a real positive feel about dealing with the DFG and Putah Creeks issues. To make a long story short I am now waiting to hear from him when he can gather a couple other collegues and meet with us to discuss what we need to discuss. As soon as I find out I will let everybody know. Hi All, I have been reading the site for some time, finallly registered to enter in the discussions. I spent some time with Roger Bloom at the Flyfishing show today and he was very interested in working for some improvments in managment of Putah. He has been fishing the creek for many years so he is familiar with the water and the issues. He thinks that some of the previous roadblocks to change are no longer around. Also, I was talking to Larry Lack from San Rafael Fly shop who fishes the creek and is interested, and has some Trout Unlimited friends who are interested as well. It seems there is developing a critical mass for action. That is exciting.
Ah, well, just shows I should always look at your website before heading to Putah, no matter what the reason. I was up there at 10 for the meeting, but will try to make whatever you reschedule. I consider myself lucky though, as it was a good excuse to go fishing, and there was almost no one around, considering it was a Saturday. Not the greatest fishing, but I hooked one early in the morning that was so big I thought i had snagged on a log. Foolishly, I behaved that way, pulling too hard (to loosen it from the log) and pulling it right of its mouth (just the way you taught me not to do it, Greg). At least I saw the really big one get away. Caught a nice 14 incher in the early afternoon, making it satisfying short fising day.
