Anyone ever fish Calaveras River? I'm looking to get out there this weekend...Any tips, patterns, advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I've never fished the Calaveras.  If you make it out there, let us know how it went.

I used to fish it quite a bit with Jason Lazon. There are fish up by the dam, but quite a few people fish that area. For the most part it looks a lot like Putah only a little smaller. The ticket to fishing that river is to get in touch with the Calaveras home owners associtation. You can by a membership for a 130 a year. This will allow you to fish the private water that belongs to them. If I remember they have about 3 miles of river. In all the times I fished that section I only ever saw 1 person fishing. A couple of things to remember, those rock up there are very, very slippery, don't were spikes. Also if they change the follows too much forget about it, you can fish all day and get skunked. There are good hatches up there but its hard to cast in a lot of areas. Good luck
