Solano Lake, from the convenience store down to the small diversion dam looks bassy! If one has some type of floatation deviceI imagine you might have some fun. Can anyone provide some info on that body of water? Are there any restrictions? Thanks. Tight lines. TMS

I read somewhere that the upper section of Putah before it runs into Berryessa holds smallies.  Is there good fly fishing up there?  Any good access? Charlie

Hi, Fished the Gualala River today with great success. The Water is that perfect emerald green and dropping fast. Started the day at "donkey hole", not 15 cast and I was hooked up, after 2 mins or so and still no sight of the fish, only the scream of a Hardy hinting that it may be larg...

Has anyone fished this lately  for Steel Head? Was looking for information on where, how, with what and if any spectacular guides. My recomendation right now would be the Feather. No New Posts Warm Water (Preview)
I have recently moved to Dixon from Vallejo because of school.  It's nice, because I can fish the creek more during the school quarter.  My wife and brother-in-law are new to flyfishing and don't really like to fish Putah Creek yet.  They prefer the constant action of bluegill and crappie fi...

Im going Ducking hunting in Willows this Saturday and was looking for a river to fish for Sunday.  I have to be in West Sac on Sunday afternoon. I can't seem to find a decent or recent fishing report. The lower Yuba sounds like the flows are too high, the feather is just a nasty river and the American so...

No New Posts Some pics from Almanor (Preview)
Here are some pics from Almanor. I had a great time but only got to break out my fly rod for one day; I found out that there is a stream still open to fishing (thanks to my 06/07 reg book) on the other side of the lake, but for the most part it was my spinner. It was worth it though, the fish were huge...

No New Posts Looking for recommendations for camping with kids (Preview)
Hi folks, I've been enjoying my role as the "uncle that takes the kids fishing" and as the kids are getting a little bit older (8-10) I think it's about time to take them on a camping trip some where.  Right now they're still bait fishing but it's pretty reasonable to expect these guys...

No New Posts What is this fish? (Preview)
I have been fishing Cache Creek off of Hwy 16 a lot this Fall.  Pretty much all I catch are a fairly dark colored greenish fish that look very much like trout, but aren't.  Their body type and fins do strongly resemble trout.   They prefer the more still water holes....

Has anyone ever fished the Arroyo Seco, below the footbridge? The regs say it opens December 1st. Above the footbridge, 3.5 miles upstream of the parking lot, is open for fishing during the summer. I went hiking  there a few summers ago and brought a rod in my pack, i...
