Really?

I caught a fish yesterday for maybe the third time. He came in really fast and I realized that I knew this guy. I let him loose as fast as I could ( thank Hod for barbless hooks ) , but it left me with a hollow feeling. I don't mind annoying the trout, but I'm not into abuse. Have any of you encountered the same situation?

I think resident trout hold in the same spot quite often. A couple seasons ago, I caught what I believe to be the same fish on Hat Creek 3 times in the exact same spot.

People who pound the creek all the time should be a little bit ashamed of themselves.

Not sure I agree. Why be ashamed of getting on the water when you can? #20 and #22 barbless hooks, catch and release. Be polite, find new areas to explore.

Working to figure out the creek through the seasons and flow change didn't come quickly to me. Hitting the creek on a regular basis has been a joy.

just my two cents

No one should feel bad about getting out on the water. As long as you’re ethical. If people didn’t fish a place on a regular basis you’d never be able to figure out a fishery.

There’s a lot of big fish that don’t get caught or even hooked up on. I wouldn’t worry about it. Those fish are just getting educated.
