Tree across the trail
Permalink

Went to the bridge this afternoon and fished the turn and then was walking down to below staircase rapid. There is a big tree down across the trail that is blocking it completely. Had to hike up and around to the right over some sketchy bushes. With the low flows the best way down below will probably be to cross over to river left and then hike downstream.

Any idea about trail maintenance rules or how that works? Is there somewhere to report this?

Muddy water so no real luck today.

What constitutes "big"? Chainsaw big or something a bucking saw could take care of? fourdog.com/bobs-quick-buck-saw-24/

A smaller tree has been down on that area for quite some time. If it is the same tree, just leave it as a gatekeeper of sorts.

Probably more work than a buck saw unless you were really motivated. I like the gatekeeper idea.

That's in the wildlife area. CDFW Region 3 is responsible for removing impassable obstacles; if not impassable trail black, they likely won't touch it.
