Why the huge CFS drop?

It appears someone closed the faucet yesterday...   A 170-cfs change seems drastic for a smaller drainage.

I know flows drop during the fall/winter months for a variety of reasons.  But this fast?   From archival research a change of 100-cfs in a 24-hour period seems normal.

I imagine fishing is going to be tough the next few days while fish get acclimated...

Thoughts?

SCWA must be doing their annual canal cleaning. They drop the creek really low to get in and do their maintenance. I understand why they don’t but am furious how they treat the creek.

Is it really that hard to latter the water down then to turn the faucet off? There will definitely be a fish kill because of this.

The responsible agency is actually SID (Solano Irrigation District)-they control flows, not SCWA. Until last year they ramped down more slowly than within 8 hours. A complaint was raised and will be again this year. Because of the side channel work last fall, there shouldn't be any small fish killed because water will be flowing through at this level.

Is it really down to 50?! Is it fishable? This is my first season fishing putah. I'm having a blast but I am not familiar with the low end of the flows.

I was going to take my daughter to the creek this weekend as she is learning to fish. Will it be pointless?
