Last time I caught one was in 07. The last time I saw one in the creek was in 2012 floating down lake Solano. In the early 2000's I had many sessions catching them on dries in their feeding frenzy before they went into spawn mode in late fall into early winter. Those were good times, but those days are long gone. I'm not sure if any even exist in the creek anymore. Maybe a few still lurking around but not likely.

I'd be surprised to see them. They'd be some old fish or you'd see them successfully spawning.

Why do you suppose they died out?

People keeping brown trout, they stopped stalking browns to keep up with people harvesting them, and people snagging them off redds.

I landed a 23" brown in Nov of 2007.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that I foul hooked it near the lower front fin (although my indicator did go down).  It was a beautiful, fat fish, nonetheless.  Previous to this fish I hadn't caught a brown in about 10 years.
