I for one am willing to spend a night or two a month at access #3 protecting the spawners from pouchers visiting the creek snaging and taking fish after most people have left the creek say from 5;30 or 6;00 pm till 8;00 or 9;00 . if we had say 15 to 30 volenteers we could start a roster and set times and dates , just through end of nov to say jan 15 ?   any one else willing and able ?????? <@)()()(><

Thats a good idea there Richard, more patrolling definitely wouldn't hurt...Hate to see pouchers running wild anywhere.. By the way probably shouldn't tell anymore poachers who can read where to find spawners.. Even the fly fishing hacks will take advantage.

In this day and age, I'd be nervous confronting anyone in this manner. If there was a large enough group in the area it would work though. I'd give it a shot but it would have to be Saturday nights.

I have given this some thought andf think it might be a good idea for those concerned to bring a friend  ~~~~  , A friend or another volentier . I for one would be willing to pull a double , sitting in my car next to you when your turn comes , What a great oppertunity to talk to another person about what ever ,, Fergussion OH . Fishing , Or just hang out for a night  . away from the TV and other distractions and Protect our resorces <@)()(>< , Hell we dont even know if people are pouching the creek at night , But if we get say 6 or 7 volentiers we could start  . That would be one night a week per person . I would pull a double if needed , Then we could get some feedback IE If people are pulling in and spotting , I would just leave others alone

Can I bring Rusty

Richard,
Thank you so much for speaking up about doing more for our fishery.
Don't be discouraged; doing the right thing is rarely ever the wrong thing.
Hopefully more will follow your lead.

Be safe.

I'm sure you could do it alone. Pop off a few rounds in the air and anyone near would probably scatter. 😇

A good series of storms is heading this way, set to kick in late Friday and run thorough Tuesday of next week. Rain tends to keep a lot of people off the water, muddy flows help as well.

I would expect this Friday will see a LOT of people up on the creek.

On the flip side, if the creek gets blown out, there is always Berrryessa :)

I always take a stroll at the creek for the most part every Tuesday morning and let the dog run around while I check on the redds. For many years now I've done this and whenever I see somebody in the redds I give them a little education and they are usually on there way. If a night time stroll at the creek is needed I can cruz out there at least once a week..

People have jobs and families. As much as some would like to catch poachers it isn't possible. That's DFG's job. They know what happens at the creek.

What is the plan and goals for this? Who is going to coordinate? What areas are you going to watch? How often? What is the story if the county sheriff drops by if overnight camping is not allowed? What are you going to do if you do "see" illegal fishing?

I would talk to DFW enforcement first before sitting on the Creek, just to cover yourselves.

I dont have a clearly defined plan . I was just looking for some volenteers . anyone want to meet or call me with their ideas

I can start with calling tim bolla and talking to him about my idea , I will also recontact the diner and see what the owner decided about breakfast for the volenteer of the day , I shot them a email asking for a breakfast deal , I will post later today for the others to see . hopfully this can still come together
