I'm new to the forum but an avid fly angler. I am a graduate student here at UC Davis (equine veterinary student) hoping to become more familiar with the gem that is Putah Creek. I've fished it a number of times since I've lived in Davis with mediocre luck. I've been heading out to the Yuba quite often though. With school becoming more demanding, I'd like to become more acquainted with Putah Creek, as it is so close and the possibility of finding incredible fish, while challenging, is there. I am wondering if any veteran anglers would be interested in fishing with me (not asking for secrets, just a better introduction to the river and a fishing buddy!). Also very interested in the Creek's history and current opinions on the health of the river system/fishery, if anyone cares to chat.
