I was planning on hitting the Yuba today but over slept so opted for Putah instead. Within 15 minutes I had hooked up and it was a beautiful fish. gave me about 10 minutes of fun before I got him to the net...and he wouldn't fit! 20 inch fish! took the dropper on 6x so I was pretty lucky to land him. i landed two more 14 inchers before calling it a day.
Didn't get a great shot of that big un. He spat the hook and fled the net before I could get him to say cheese.

On a sad note, as I was driving to the creek on Sunday morning I saw a news truck at the side of Pleasants Valley Road filming the scene of an accident. There were long skid marks on the road and damage to the verge where a vehicle had clearly left the road at pretty high speed.
On my way back in the evening there was a large gathering of mostly teenage kids in off road vehicles at the site along with several CHP and Sonoma Sheriff cars and they were planning two crosses and laying flowers. Just read today that two kids were killed there Saturday evening in a solo vehicle rollover accident.
Definitely puts things in perspective when you see something like that.
