I am taking someone from the napa peete coffe out fishing he has never been fly fishing and we are going saterday to the yuba so if anyone has a loaner pair I can borrow that would be cool . I Don,t know how cold the water is thistime of the year?any ways  . any offers out here ? richard 707 294-4738 from napa

Sorry can't help on the waders. Also the water is always cold on the Yuba as, like Putah, it is a tailwater fishery and supplied nice cold water from the bottom of the dam.

Be careful Yuba is "big"water and a tough place to learn. You don't want them thinking fly fishing sucks maybe try some smaller water a little closer to home first??

You sure you wanna wear waders in 100 degree weather? Put the waders away until at least a couple more weeks.

Thanks for the advice yaall  we will try wet wadding

Does any one know weather or not we should pinch the barbs I think we do have to ?

Yes, barbs must be pinched on the entire yuba

wet wadding wasn't to good at least for the guy wet wadding every time I looked over he was falling. and I should have planned on spending more time with him doing casting instruction . I forget how bad my casting was when I first started fly fishing

Yeah not the best idea ....... I know i battle with my wading boots etc.....yeah yeah i know i battle everywhere. Anyway as long as he didn't get hurt and had a decent time out. Maybe next time you take him out try around acess 5 or something where it is a little easier to learn the techniques without worrying about staying upright!!
