Anyone ever try Tenkara?

The FlyTalk blog today had an interesting article about Tenkara, an ancient Japanese style of fly fishing without a reel. Here is the original post: http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/how-fish/2009/04/tenkara-fly-fishing-heaven and here is a store in the USA specializing in Tenkara products: http://www.tenkarausa.com/.

Anyone ever try it?

Vince

Tenkara, no...Cane pole with 10 feet of mono and a bobber, yes. Works great for panfish and no reason it wouldn't work for little trouties. My 24 yr old daughter still loves the cane pole and uses it every summer for bluegills when we're screwing around camping...
